WAMS Media Center

The WAMS Media Center opened in the Fall of 2002. The bright, open architecture welcomes students, staff, parents and outside groups who frequently utilize its resources. The media center offers a vast array of books, both fiction and nonfiction, periodicals, videos and dvds.  The reference center contains both printed and online databases to help students with research projects.

 
There are also audio visual and projection equipment for teachers to use to incorporate technology into the curriculum. A computer lab is available for class instruction as well as individual student use.

 

Hours: The media center is open for student use from 7:30am – 3:15pm
 
Circulation:
  • Periodicals & reference material may be checked out overnight
  • Books may be checked out for three weeks.
Overdue Material:
  •  A notice will be sent to the student's homeroom for any overdue material.
  • The student will receive a detention from the media specialist for material overdue by three weeks.
  • If material is not returned within one month, all student library privileges will be revoked, until the material is returned.
  • Students will be charged a fine of 5cent/day, excluding weekends and holidays for all overdue material. The fine must be paid at the time the material is returned. If the fine is not paid within a week, the student's library privileges will be revoked until such time that the fine is paid in full.
  • A slip is placed within the book showing the due date
  • It is the student's responsibility to return material by the date due.
  • Report cards will be held for material not returned and fines not paid by the end of the marking period.
