Transportation for the 2019-2020 School Year

  • If you register or have a change of address processed by 8/26/19, your child will have transportation on the first day of school, 9/3/19.
  • If you register or process a change of address between 8/27/19 and 9/1/19, your child will have transportation beginning on 9/9/19.
  • If you register or process a change of address after 9/3/19, we require 4 working days to begin providing transportation.

Listed below are several of the most asked questions about operational procedures. All deadlines are firm and based on providing optimum service:

Student Pick Up/Delivery Plan- Each student will have one designated pick up point and one designate delivery point. With over 3,000 students being transported daily, the Transportation Department is not capable of tailoring individual plans. There are no courtesy busing from one school to another. Students may not ride another student's bus at any time.

Address Changes Pick Up/Delivery- If you are moving to a new home within the district you must contact the Central Registrar 856-778-6610 ext. 12019. The transportation office cannot change your address.

Daycare/Sitter- The district will only transport your student to daycare within the school zone of attendance. It must be 5 days per week and can be all AM, all PM or all midday.

How Bus Stops are Selected- Bus stops are selected to maximize the efficiency of each route. In all cases, particularly in housing developments, group stops are utilized. Students living on rural roads will be set up at home due to geography and distance between homes. Since we centralize bus stops, there will always be the scenario of a bus passing students homes in order to get to the bus stop. Large buses do not enter cul de sacs. Mini buses do not enter dead end streets.

Bus Stop Time- All students are required to wait at the designated bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled bus arrival. Our bus routes are timed and must remain on schedule. At multiple student pick up points, drivers pick up only those students who are there. The bus will not return to a bus stop. For pick up points that serve only one student or family, the driver will stop, look for the student(s) and proceed to the next stop.

Bus Capacity- Large buses transport 54 students. Mini buses vary from 19 to 24 students.
